To celebrate the 10th release in the series, Disco Deviance welcomes back the editor and DJ who kicked everything off for the imprint on its inception two years ago, Greg Wilson.
Greg has been an inspiration to generations of DJs and has been a constant purveyor of top quality, groove-based music. His first release on Disco Deviance was an absolute top class act and set the tone for what was to come on the label.
On this his follow up release, Greg again chooses to pick from diverse sources for his inspiration. Do It Nice & Easy (With Love) was featured some time back on his Resident Advisor mix and caused a buzz on internet forums such as DJ History. Fusing Eddie Drennon’s ‘Do It Nice & Easy’ with the still sensational sounding vocals of Donna Summer’s ‘Love To Love You Baby’ the result is an amazingly sensual melt of disco and funk.
Meanwhile on the flip cut, Touchdown’s ‘Ease Your Mind’ with its fascinating blend of New Romantic sensibilities and disco vibes is put under the Wilson’s blade and reworked into an extended version that really teases out the underlying electrofunk vibes.
It’s a perfectly balanced and eclectic package straight out of the GW Vaults that marks Disco Deviance reaching its 10th release in style.
